BHUBANESWAR: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday requested Union Petroleum Minister Jaipal Reddy to allocate an additional 2,400 kilo litre kerosene to the State in view of the devastating floods. In his letter, Naveen said the back-to-back floods have compounded the misery of the people in the coastal districts where people are living in darkness.After the floods in the Mahanadi river system, the Government had sought an allocation of 2,400 kilo litre kerosene from the Centre and it was mentioned in the flood assistance memorandum too.After September 21 floods in Baitarani, the situation has worsened. He requested Reddy to immediately sanction the additional allocation.
