Chakvetadze will also rise to No. 6 in the world rankings and with her win against Sania on Sunday her record is now 6-0 in tournament finals with two of the wins coming against the 20-year-old Indian.

Sania was not disheartened by her loss and said that she was aiming to be in the top 20 soon.

"I've always said I could be top 20 and I believe in that. I thought maybe by the end of next season, but who knows? Maybe it will happen this year. I believe in setting realistic, practical goals," Sania was quoted as saying by the Associated Press.

"I learned I can play good tennis the whole week," she said. "Physically I couldn't take it like she can."

However, Sania had a better ending to her doubles campaign where she won the title along with partner Shahar Peer of Israel.

They beat Anna Chakvetadze and Victoria Azarenka 6-4, 7-6.

"I have to say I'm a little tired," said Chakvetadze, who earned $88,265 for the victory. "I wasn't feeling that great to run around for three sets so I told myself to finish it fast."
