As many as 100 of the 123 accused have been convicted under anti-terror law TADA and various other sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including actor Sanjay Dutt, who has been found guilty under the Arms Act for possession of illegal arms.

He faces five to 10 years of jail term under the Act. Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), the prosecuting agency in the case, has sought death penalty for 44 of the convicts who were found guilty of conspiracy and other charges under TADA.
