THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State Bank of Travancore has launched the Green Channel Counter (GCC), an innovative step towards ecofriendly, paperless banking to make Kerala more greener.GCC leverages on its state-of-the-art technology in banking, reducing customer transaction time and avoiding pay-in slips, cheques and challans, thereby enriching customer delight and satisfaction.The unique and novel way of banking was launched by managing director of the bank P Nanda Kumaran at its Kowdiar branch in the presence of bank’s chief general manager S Balachandran. Cash deposit, cash withdrawal and funds transfer are the facilities now available through GCC with a limit of Rs 40,000 per transaction.The customer need not fill any forms or get tokens and stand in queues. A printed receipt will be given to the customer indicating the transactions put through the GCC.The customer can avail of the GCC facility at the front office bank counter, through a specially designed Transaction Processing Device, by swiping his ATM debit card and entering his PIN.The GCC facility will be extended to other branches in a phased manner.
