BANGALORE: On the occasion of World Elders  Day and Gandhi Jayanti, city-based Manashanti Trust, in association with Devised Care India, has organised a two-days  Senior Citizens’ Mela at Maratha Hostel on Bull Temple Road.The first day of the event  witnessed the participation of over 300 senior citizens from across the city. A  free comprehensive health check-up including dental, ear, eyes, bone density, foot examination, blood pressure, diabetes test by various well known multi speciality city hospitals was organised. On these two days, government’s senior citizen ID cards will also be issued for which the applicants will have to submit proof of identity and residential address, one colour passport photo and blood group. Devised Care India deals with assistive devices for independent living for the elderly and differently challenged. The use of these devices, exhibited at the venue, improves the quality of their life.
