Mumbai: Former media executive Peter Mukerjea's CBI custody has been extended till November 26. A local court gave the extension to Peter, accused in the Sheena Bora murder case despite the CBI seeking an extension of ten more days.
The CBI told the court on Monday that financial transactions appear to be the motive of the murder and that it has established Peter's involvement in the larger conspiracy. CBI told the court that Peter has several financial transactions abroad which also needs to be probed.
Peter Mukerjea disclosed during questioning about investments made by him and wife Indrani in UK and India but he did not mention the source of money, said CBI.
Meanwhile, speaking to CNN-IBN after his custody was extended, claiming innocense, Peter Mukerjea said he has done no wrong.
Earlier on Monday, Indrani Mukerjea's daughter Vidhie told the Central Bureau of Investigation that her mother was divorcing Peter.
"My mother never liked Rahul Mukerjea. When I asked if Sheena was her daughter, she scolded me. Indrani blamed Rahul for creating suspicion," Vidhie told CBI. "Indrani said she was divorcing Peter."
Vidhie added that she got an e-mail on August 28,2012 supposedly from Sheena and she received another fake email on January 27, 2013. Vidhie is Indrani and Sanjeev Khanna's daughter. When Vidhie asked her father whether he is involved in Sheena's murder, he laughed it off.
