The exhibition was inaugurated on December 12, by renowned Kannada actress Tejaswini and Bangalore cutie Supriya Roy a professional model.There is a lot to see and shop at the exhibition. While you gift wrap an Idol for friends or relatives, you can do some shopping for yourself at the jewellery stall.There is something for everyone.One can witness on display few exquisite Dhokra brass craft, art furniture from Bastar in MP, Potteries from UP, Oriental furniture from Delhi, Warli Art from Maharastra, and exotic handicraft from Bihar, Kashmir, Amritsar, Jaipur, Agra, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Lucknow and few other places.Muniswamy General Manager of KSHDC, says, “We have been hosting this exhibition for the past ten years now and every year we have had good response from Bangalore. Here they get to meet the craftsmen directly and customise the products as required. We like to encourage direct interaction with the craftsmen and eradicate middle men.”Manjunath, artist and owner of Sri Vinayaka handicraft, says, “This is the first time I am a part of this exhibition. We have a great collection of handicrafts, collectables and idols. We engrave different types of wood such as Kadam wood, Shivani wood and Sandal wood. Most of the corporate employees are interested in these products for corporate gifting.”There is also a huge of collection of Madhubani paintings, where the entire village of Raiyam from Bihar has contributed to the art work too. The paintings are made on handmade paper with natural colours extracted from fruits and vegetables. Make sure you don’t miss, what could be your best shopping spree ever.
