HYDERABAD: For the seventh year in a row, the Prabhandak Committee of Gurudwara Saheb Barambala will conduct mass marriages free of cost at Kishanbagh on May 12 and 13. All the Sikh Gurudwaras in the State have come together to conduct the marriages.Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy, Minister for Minorities Mohd. Ahmedullah Syed, Minister for Civil Supplies Sridhar Babu, MP Renuka Chowdhary and other dignitaries, including senior Sikh Jathedars, will attend the event.Prabhandak Committee president S Harbans Singh and Andhra Pradesh Sikh Welfare Association general secretary S Iqbal Singh said this unique service was being provided by the Prabhandak Committee Gurudwara Saheb Barambala keeping in mind the poor families in the Sikh community. The brides and bridegrooms hail from different districts in the State and other States like Gujarat, Maharashtra and Karnataka.However, only Gurmukh and Amrit Dhari Sikhs will be allowed for marriages and non-Sikhs cannot tie the knot at the event.
