HYDERABAD:  Governor and chancellor of the universities ESL Narasimhan on Thursday  appointed vice-chancellors for four universities in the state. The administrative changes have been made at Dravidian University in Chittoor, Palamuru University in Mahbubnagar, Potti Sriramulu Telugu University, Hyderabad and Adikavi Nannaya University in Rajahmundry.Retired professor of SV University,  professor K. Ratnaiah has been appointed  vice-chancellor of Dravidian University, at Kuppam in Chittoor district. A faculty in the department of sociology at SV University, profesor K. Ratnaiah has an academic experience of 29 years and has served as the rector of SV University. His subject of expertise is Dalit studies and criminology. He is also a life member of the Indian Sociological Society.Palamuru university in Mahbubnagar district has a new head in professor G. Bhagyanarayana, head of botany at College of Science, Osmania University. Bhagyanarayana received his doctoral degree from Osmania University. The president of Mycological Society of India, he has over 30 years of teaching and research experience. The academician has 80 scientific publications to his credit and is the author of multiple volumes on mycology and plant pathology. Bhagyanarayana was also honored with the Prof. M.J. Narasimhan award and gold medal by the Indian Psychopathological Society. Former head of department of Telugu at University College of Arts and Social Sciences at Osmania University, Professor Elluri Siva Reddy has been appointed the vice-chancellor of Potti Sriramulu Telugu University, Hyderabad. He has a rich academic experience spanning over three decades. He has also served as a member of the civil services syllabus committee for UPSC. He won the Andhra Pradesh Sahitya Academy award for his book ‘Suravaram Pratapa Reddy Jeevitam - Sahityam’ in 1972. He is a poet, writer, critic and commentator of Telugu literature and is considered an authority on Indian mythological text, Mahabharata.Adikavi Nannaya University at Rajahmundry will be headed by the newly-appointed vice- chancellor, professor P. George Victor of Andhra University. A student of M.A and PhD in philosophy in Andhra University,  George Victor joined Andhra University as a faculty member in 1981. He teaches Sanskara Vedanta and Western philosophy at Andhra University and was mentored by Padma Vibhushana awardee, Professor K. Satchidananda Murty. He is also the founder-director of the Centre for Religious Studies at Andhra University and has authored ‘Social Philosophy of Vedanta’, ‘Life and Teachings of Adi Sankaracharya’ and ‘Moral Science’.
