Odisha ExperienceI was in Odisha some time back as judge for a reality show when I had evinced interest for a solo show here. Since then, I was looking forward to this concert. I always wanted a platform to perform in my home state and am glad that I finally got it. The response to the show was great and I got to perform with my band, which is my true passion. Am extremely proud to be a part of the State which has a legacy of amazing classical and folk music.Next ProjectI’ve worked on my album, Songs For The Beloved, for the last 2 years. I’m looking for a good release plan as I don’t want the album to get lost in the sea of album releases. Besides that, I’m constantly working on collaborations, film projects and producing soundtracks for my production house - Omgrown Music. I am a partner in the same with Ram Sampath. Our latest releases include the ‘Delhi Belly’ soundtrack and also the ‘Har Ek Friend Zaroori Hota hai’ track for Airtel. Its cut boundaries and mediums and we hope to keep pushing the envelope in whatever music we create.Digital ExperienceYouTube is an invaluable tool to access creative people from around the world, be it Jazz musicians like Raul Midon, speakers from various fields on TED Talks or even stand up comedians like Eddie Izzard. They are all a click away and prove to inspire, entertain, enthrall and inspire me. I would not hesitate in saying that YouTube is possibly the biggest life-changing discovery for me in the last decade!Non Bollywood MusicOne needs infrastructure and marketing machinery in place to really promote non-Bollywood music, but sadly, we haven’t built it. There has to be a serious revenue model in place for an artiste to be able to sustain themselves through their music alone.Going InternationalI’m working on an interesting project full of collaborations between the East and West. It’s for an unusual project with a broad release. I’ll reveal all the details in due time.
