BANGALORE: Karnataka has bagged a national award for being the number one state in the country in food grain production for 200910.
Agriculture Minister Umesh Katti on Thursday told reporters that the state had produced a record 130 lakh tonnes of food grains in 200910, for which it bagged the 'Krishi Karman' award constituted by the Union Agriculture Ministry.Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa and Katti will receive the award from Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on July 16 at New Delhi. The award carries a cash prize of `1 crore.
