Students oppose BEd criteria

BANGALORE: Postgraduate and Research Students Union of the Bangalore University opposed the new rule that Pre-University lecturers must be BEd graduates to be qualified as a lecturer.“This new rule has taken us by surprise. It looks like the new rule is introduced to fill in seats of all the BEd colleges.  The number of students taking up BEd has reduced over the years. This is a strategy to get more people to join the course,” said Govindaiah, President of the Union.“It will affect the commerce stream since the B.Ed admissions are only for B.Sc and B.A students. It will affect all our livelihood,” said Ravi Prasad, the General Secretary.
