Supreme Court posts plea on OROP for final hearing
The bench did not allow a submission for urgent hearing after the government counsel said that OROP has been implemented.

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday posted for final hearing a plea seeking implementation of One Rank- One Pension (OROP) scheme for retired armed forces personnel, even as the Centre asserted it has already been implemented. "Heard. Pleadings are complete. Post for final hearing," a bench comprising Justices TS Thakur and V Gopala Gowda said.

The bench did not allow a submission for urgent hearing after the government counsel said that OROP has been implemented. The court, in July 2015, had given six weeks to the government to comply with its 2008 judgment ordering implementation of the OROP scheme. The bench is hearing a contempt petition filed by retired Major General SPS Vains on the issue and had made the Defence Ministry a party to the dispute.
