Thiruvananthapuram: With six more persons testing positive for swine flu, the total number of patients affected with the deadly virus has risen to 36 in Kerala this month, a Health department official said on Sunday.
Thirteen of the patients are from Thiruvananthapuram, eight from Kollam, five from Kozhikode, four from Ernakulam, three from Malappuram, two from Alappuzha and one from Kottayam, H1N1 monitoring cell of the Health department said.
One patient died of the infection at Kottayam Medical College Hospital on June 11, taking the swine flu toll since its outbreak last year to 48.
Seventeen persons have been quarantined in hospitals while 20 are at their homes.
