Two persons died on the spot while another on the way to hospital, police said.
Erode: Three persons were killed and two others injured seriously when a tanker lorry rammed into their car in the district on Wednesday, police said. The occupants of the car were proceeding to Sankari in neigbouring Salem District from Kavindapady, about 20 km from here, when the mishap occurred near Sevagoundenure village.
Two persons died on the spot while another on the way to hospital, police said. The injured had been admitted to a private hospital in Salem.
A search was on for the driver of the tanker lorry who fled the scene, police added.
