TIRUPATI: The TDP has resolved to draw a district-wise action plan to make the party stronger. At the district TDP general body meeting held here on Friday, TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu said that the action plan for Chittoor district has been prepared at the meeting of the constituency incharges, MPs and MLAs of the district. The same will be followed in other districts.A state-level workshop will be organised at Hyderabad, for drawing plans for the next one year to invigorate the party, he said.A committee will be appointed to study farmers’ issues in Godavari and Krishna districts where farmers threatened to declare a crop holiday, in the absence of remunerative price for their produce. With the decrease in the prices of paddy, sugarcane and mangoes, farmers in Chittoor are facing severe problems. Thothapuri, a mango variety grown in the district, is now priced at Rs 4000-6000 per tonne as against Rs 20,000 last year. The sugarcane price has also declined by Rs 200 this year. On the other hand, the cost of production has soared up, Naidu said.He reiterated that his party will support those fighting against corruption and criticised the vindictive move of the Centre against Baba Ramdev. Eventhough Congress had promised to reopen the Chittoor coop dairy if the party came into power, it has not been reopened even after seven years of its power in the state, he said. “The Congress leaders never missed any chance of accusing me and holding me responsible for the closure of the dairy which is not true,” he said. “It is true that my family set up a dairy. But we don’t rob people of the state.”Unlike his previous visits, Naidu spent half an hour with the activists seeking their views on the issues in their areas. He repeatedly assured the activists that the party will spare no efforts to protect their interest and wanted them to take up public issues for the benefit of the party, people and the state.Earlier, he visited the homes of two local party leaders in the town and also attend the marriage of a TDP leader’s son in Urban Hatt. He also visited Tiruchanur and offered prayers in the temple.
