Two power workers electrocuted

HYDERABAD: Two contract workers of the power department were electrocuted and one other suffered burns while working on an electric pole at Attapur on Saturday.The trio, Mohd Ghouse (30), Mohd Baba (25) and Habeeb (24), all residents of Kishan Bagh, were involved in repair works on Road No.4 at Attapur following complaints on power supply. According to police, the power supply was cut off around 10 a.m. to take up repair works. Abruptly, power supply was resorted to the electric pole and three of them suffered electric shock. Baba fell down from the police and died instantly. Ghouse also died. Habeeb suffered burns and was rushed to a hospital for treatment. Relatives of the deceased attacked Attapur sub-station. Police caned the protestors to bring the situation under control. They promised to inquire into the incident and take action against the responsible.
