Two persons were killed while two others sustained injuries in a road accident involving a trailer and a van on NH-33 under Shyam Sunderpur police station in Ghatsila sub-division, police said on Wednesday.
The incident occurred when the van carrying over a dozen of villagers from Kerukocha collided head-on with a trailer last night, they said.
One person identified as Choterai Murmu was killed on the spot while three seriously injured were rushed to a nursing home in Baharagora, police said, adding, that one of the injured Sanatan Murmu succumbed to injuries late on Tuesday night.
The two other injured were also referred to the government-run MGM hospital, he said.
The driver of the trailer, however, managed to escape the scene following the incident, he added.
