HMWS&SB, Managing Director Adhar Sinha on Monday conducted a teleconference on Prajavani with CGMs (Engg) and GMs (Engg) of O&M Wing and enquired about the nature of complaints received and reviewed the implementation of redressal viz, prompt rectification of pollution, leakages, power borewells, hand borewells, static tanks, proper mobilization of tankers in ill-served areas etc, to ensure proper water supply.
The managing director also instructed officials to take up construction Rain Water Harvesting (RWH) structures on a priority basis before the monsoon is over in section, sub-division and division levels in residential colonies, houses, parks, government offices, hotels and hospitals etc.
He also instructed them to distribute chlorine tablets in pollution-prone areas, slums and tail-end points of water supply system as a precautionary measure to protect consumers from any epidemic diseases which usually spread during monsoon.
He also stressed the need to take up desilting of sewer lines and replace missing manhole covers, as part of the monsoon action plan and to also concentrate on revenue billing and collection. He directed the general managers to concentrate on revenue billing and collections in their respective divisions.
