WB: 12-year-old raped while returning from school

Burdwan: A minor girl in the district was allegedly raped by a youth when she was returning from school, police said on Friday.

After the rape, the girl, a class six student, returned back to her school in Islampur area and fainted after reaching the headmaster's room.

On regaining consciousness, she told the school staff that she was raped by a young man whom she couldn't recognise, police said.

A complaint has been lodged in this regard while the girl has been sent to Katwa hospital for medical check-up.
