New Delhi: What was in the conversation — allegedly between West Indies batsman, Marlon Samuels and bookie Mukesh Kochar — that put Samuels under the scanner? CNN-IBN got hold of the transcripts of the infamous chat. Here are the relevant bits:
The most striking revelation in the conversation was that Samuels would bowl first change in Nagpur. In the telephone conversation, Kochar asks Samuels:
Kochar: When do you get onto bowl?
Samuels: Unclear reply.
Kochar: Which over would you be bowling?
Samuels: One down.
Kochar then confirms what Samuels had told him in more detail.
Kochar: Who all will be bowling tomorrow?
Samuels: Yes I will be bowling.
Kochar digs further asking: Bradshaw and Taylor will open. Will you be third?
And Samuels says that Jerome Taylor — who normally bowls with the new ball — will be the fourth bowler.
It was also revealed that Samuels stayed back in Mumbai for two days after the series finished on January 31. That too seems to have been discussed.
Kochar: Are you going back to Bombay?
Samuels: Most probably. Maybe.
Kochar: I'll come there and join you.
Samuels: I will stay there for a couple of days.
Team strategy was also discussed.
Kochar: What do you think, who will bat?
Samuels: Well...
Kochar: Who, who?
Samuels: Dwayne. He's making a debut tomorrow.
Kochar: New batsman or bowler?
Samuels: No. He is an all rounder.
Kochar: He's good?
Samuels: Er..yes he's making his debut.
