Why Sonia won't talk about Rahul
Sonia Gandhi kept the guessing game on regarding Rahul Gandhi’s inclusion in the All India Congress Committee.

New Delhi: Will he or won't he? The mystery remained unsolved with Congress President Sonia Gandhi yet again refusing a straight reply whether her son Rahul Gandhi will don a more active role in either the party or government.

She kept the guessing game on regarding Rahul’s inclusion in the AICC or the government, saying ''it is up to him (Rahul) to decide.''

''I am always too happy to include him in the party or the government. It is upto him to decide,'' Ms Gandhi said in reply to a question after her inaugural address at the Fourth Annual Hindustan Times Leadership Summit on 'India : the Next Global Superpower.'

Rahul was also present in the audience.

To a question on the recent Uttar Pradesh elections in which the Congress got a battering, Sonia said the past experience in the UP elections had not been a ''very happy one.''

''There is the usual pressure on us from the government and the administration. But we will fight that.''

She, however, said in the last local elections, Congress had not done badly at all. ''We have picked up. It is a sign we might give some surprises.''

When asked at the HT Leadership Summit whether Rahul would be catapulted into the forefront in the AICC or in the government, she signaled towards him smiling and said, "He's right here."

Rahul, who was present, looked on with a smile on his face as the audience broke into laughter.

"I am always too happy to include him either in the party or the government. But it is for him to decide," Gandhi said whether Rahul will get some challenging post in the AICC reshuffle.
