A 38-year-old housewife caught her husband, who is working as a sub-inspector in the city, living with another woman at Meerpet here on Sunday.
Police said Venkat Reddy (45), a probationary SI in Begum Bazar police station, had differences with his wife over some family issues.
He was reportedly living with a divorcee in Meerpet.
When Lalita got to know of this, she rushed to his house and staged a dharna alleging that he had duped her while living with another woman.
A few hours later, Reddy, who was in the house, came out and spoke to her.
The couple then came to the station.
“Reddy said that he was living separately and had hired a cook at home.
Both Reddy and Lalitha informed us that they had reached a compromise and requested us not to register any case,” Meerpet Inspector T Ravinder Said.
Reddy married Lalitha when he was working as a constable in Nalgonda district.
The couple has two children.
A few years ago, some family dispute arose and Lalitha had registered a case against him in Nalgonda.
