'Wishing You All...': PM Modi, President Murmu Extend Greetings On Janmashtami
In view of the celebrations, Delhi Traffic Police had issued an advisory for commuters and devotees due to restrictions near major temples and procession routes on Monday

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu on Monday extended their greetings on the occasion of Janmashtami to all the citizens of the country.

“Wishing you all a very Happy Janmashtami. Jai Shri Krishna!,” PM Modi wrote in Hindi on X.

President Murmu also shared her greetings on X, stating, “I greet all my countrymen on ‍ auspicious occasion of ‍ . This festival inspires us to be dedicated to the divine ideals of Lord Shri Krishna. On this occasion, let us imbibe the teachings of Lord Shri Krishna and pledge to work for the progress and prosperity of the country.”

Extending his greetings, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar wrote, “Marking the birth of Lord Krishna, who embodies divine love, wisdom, and righteousness, Janmashtami is a day of profound spiritual significance. As we celebrate this sacred day, let us reflect on the timeless lessons of Lord Krishna and strive to live by them, fostering unity, peace, and harmony in our society.”

Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha and senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also shared, “Hearty wishes and congratulations to everyone on Shri Krishna Janmashtami. I hope that this festival of joy and happiness fills the life of all of you with new enthusiasm and excitement.”

On Sunday, in view of the Janmashtami celebrations, Delhi Traffic Police issued an advisory for commuters and devotees due to restrictions near major temples and procession routes on Monday.

“In view of Shri Krishna Janmashtami celebrations on 26.08.2024, special traffic arrangements have been made. Kindly follow the advisory for routes and plan your journey accordingly,” Delhi Traffic Police posted on X.

The city’s traffic police further noted, “Prominent functions of Janmashtami will be held at Laxmi Narain Mandir in New Delhi, ISKCON Temple in East of Kailash, Dwarka Sector 13 and Rohini Sector 25, DDA Ground of Dwarka Sector 10, Janmashtami Park in Punjabi Bagh, Golok Dham Temple in Dwarka Sector-10, Adhya Katyani Shakti Peeth in Chhattarpur, Gufawala Mandir in Preet Vihar, and Santoshi Mata Mandir in Hari Nagar.”
