Ballia: A 24-year-old woman jumped off a moving tempo on Monday on the Bairiya-Ballia road to evade teasing by a fellow passenger and was killed, police said.
The woman had taken the tempo along with her two-year-old son and brother near Yogendra Giri Mathiya village under Bairiya police station when the co-passenger allegedly misbehaved with her, police said.
To evade the advances made by the accused, she jumped off the tempo along with her child. Though the baby remained unhurt, the woman was killed on the spot, police said, adding the tempo driver fled after forcing her brother to get off the vehicle.
SP Manoj Kumar Jha said a case has been registered and efforts are on to nab the culprit.
