CHENNAI: HP witnessed over 200 young creative minds perfecting their story writing skills at the HP Write and Read workshop. The Chennai Write and Read workshop – the fourth in a series of six workshops planned across India — came alive with the unending enthusiasm of the children (9 – 14 years) selected from across numerous city schools. With several ingeniously designed modules, the workshop was an absorbing experience for the students, as they incurred an educational experience on creative writing skills and essential elements of story writing.HP’s Write & Read is a unique initiative for children taken by HP’s Imaging and Printing Group (HP-IPG). It is a collaborative story-writing programme in association with Katha, an NGO that helps poverty-ridden children. The programme provides them with quality education. The NGO is driven by HP’s industry-leading imaging and printing technologies to bring to the surface young students’ imagination to life. Famed lyricist Prasoon Joshi is serving as the creative mentor for the Write & Read programme.After Chennai, HP Write & Read is all set to host its future workshops in New Delhi and Mumbai in October. Workshop in New Delhi will be held on October 14 and 15, and the Mumbai workshop will be held from October 20 to 22.Upon culmination of the workshops, the final 50 best entries, shortlisted through a rigorous judging process supervised by Prasoon Joshi, will be published in the form of a book of short stories for children, by children.“It was a pleasure to mentor the participants at the HP Write & Read workshop.
