BANGALORE: The High Court on Tuesday issued notices to Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa for denotifying five acres and 13 guntas of land in Nagarbhavi.
The High Court had earlier issued notices to various departments for denotifying land, which was allotted to BDCC Bank Employees Cooperative Society after it filed a writ petition challenging the donotification. The Chief Minister was made a party to the case and the court had directed that notices be issued to all respondents. However, notice had not been served to the CM. Justice D V Shylendra Kumar appreciated the petitioners for showing "exemplary courage" in making the CM party to the case.

The state government had issued preliminary notification to acquire five acres and 13 guntas of land in survey number 78 of Nagarbhavi in 1982 and issued a final notification in June 1985.

The land owners once again filed petitions challenging the bulk allotment of their land and all the courts dismissed their petitions.

BDA had submitted before the court that the denotification was withdrawn on September 16, 2010, and requested the court to dispose the petition as infructuous.
