Focusing on the negative things in life and constantly complaining isn’t good for one’s mental health as it can cause despair, anxiety, and depression. To change it, a person must engage in routine gratitude practice. Recognizing and expressing appreciation for the good things in life is a discipline that is beneficial to one’s mental health and overall well-being.
There are many ways to practice gratitude, including paying attention to the little things in life, being appreciative of others for being there for you, keeping a gratitude journal, or doing something nice for someone in your life as a way to express gratefulness.
A wellness expert and nutritionist, Karishma Shah talked about the health benefits of practicing gratitude via an Instagram post. “In positive psychology research, gratitude is strongly and consistently associated with greater happiness. Gratitude helps people feel more positive emotions, relish good experiences, improve their health, deal with adversity, and build strong relationships,” her caption read.
