The season of summer, followed by a heavy monsoon, is usually the ideal time to embark on a trip across India, either with your friends or family. There are certain places in the country that should be avoided during the rainy season, as there is a high risk of natural disasters. So, here is a list of all the places to avoid during the monsoon.
Kullu:
Because of the continuous rain, there have been reports of overflow in the banks of the Kullu Valley. Several roads were damaged due to the landslides and floods the monsoon caused. The road construction work is expected to resume only after the flood subsides.
Manali:
According to the reports, in the last week alone, Manali has witnessed severe destruction. Disaster management work is being carried out but the situation of the place is still very bad. The water level has lowered compared to before and the authorities have taken the necessary action. It is being advised that it is safer to visit the place after the monsoon season.
Delhi:
As the capital of our country, Delhi is always crowded. Due to the recent rains, it is better to avoid visiting the city. As per reports, the Yamuna river has crossed the danger limit and some parts are already flooded.
Parvati Valley:
Himachal Pradesh’s Parvati Valley is experiencing severe floods, which is reportedly causing a lot of damage. More reports state that tourists were evacuated from the Kasol area of the place due to the worsening conditions. Authorities have advised the commuters and visitors to avoid travelling to the place for the time being.
Sainj Valley:
In the past, there have been reports of houses and buildings being washed away, due to rains at this place, located in Himachal Pradesh. Locals and tourists are being evacuated, while the government has asked to not plan any trips here.
The Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Pushkar Singh Dhami has ordered the officials to identify and repair the routes for Char Dham Yatra pilgrims; the ones destroyed by the monsoon.
