Rotis or bread using different forms of flour is the basic cuisine of people in North Karnataka. These rotis are served primarily for breakfast and lunch and can be made using rice, jowar, and ragi flour. However, semolina or rava roti has a separate fan base in the region owing to its health benefits and delicious taste.

Ingredients For Semolina Roti
Semolina – 1 cup
Onion – 1 (chopped)
Green chilli – 2 medium-size
Coriander
Grated coconut
Tomato – small size
cooking oil
Salt to taste
How To Make Semolina Roti
Step 1: First, take a cup of semolina and soak it in water. After one minute, drain the water. Be careful and do not end up spilling the semolina while pouring out the water.
Step 2: Take the onion and cut it into small pieces.
Step 3: Cut green chillies and tomatoes similarly.
Step 4: Mix all of them and add chopped coriander leaves to the mixture.
Step 5: Add the veggies to semolina and grate some coconut on it.
Step 6: Add salt to taste and mix it well. Prepare the dough.
Step 7: Ensure that the dough is neither too thick nor too thin.
Step 8: Put tava on the stove and pour a few drops of oil. Take a portion of dough and press it with your hands to give it the shape of roti. Put it on the tava.
Step 9: Let it cook for two minutes.
Step 10: Flip it over to cook it from another side.
Step 11: Take the dosa out from the guard and put it on a plate. It is ready to be served with sambhar or any chutney.
