Restaurant Review: The Flaming Kick
Restaurant Review: The Flaming Kick
Even though it is the newest eatery in a bustling neighbourhood (Noida’s Sector 18 market), TFK offers a variety of cuisines at sensible rates for the devout.

Food is definitely the prime reason for almost everyone as they finalise their plan to visit a specific restaurant. However, its pleasant and cool ambiance and yes, the interiors are also a few of the influential factors. The moment I entered The Flaming Kitchen (TFK) I was a bit surprised, all thanks to the red and black colors that dominate through the restaurant interiors and multiple large posters carrying interesting messages to break the repetitiveness and bring the sparkle. I liked its Gold Lounge for its royal feel. But what grabbed my attention was the quiet, elegant and sophisticated section that faces the road and serves as a perfect addition to TFK.

Even though it is the newest eatery in a bustling neighbourhood (Noida’s Sector 18 market), TFK offers a variety of cuisines at sensible rates for the devout. As I browsed through the menu, I not only found the usual bets - French Fries, Dahi Kebab, Tangri Kebab, Hakka noodles etc, but also many interesting items including Lahsooni Tandoori Prawn, Quattro Formaggi, Peri Peri Paneer Burger and Mutton Saag Gosht.

Food: I decided to play safe and quickly asked for Tom Kha Soup. Since it has always been one of my most favorite Thai dishes, I asked the chef to get me ASAP. Thankfully I didn’t have to remind the staff to make it extra spicy. While the non-veg option also tasted good, it paled in comparison. The next dish to grace my table was Spicy Kimchee Salad. I was quite happy that I had ordered only a small portion of it. Since the cabbage was completely soaked in chilli flakes, it was impossible to ask for another serving. Nonetheless, the first bite I had was enough to state that it had the right flavors of garlic, ginger, soya sauce and vinegar.

What soon came was the one of the dishes many of us love making. Whether you are alone at home, have got late from office or need something to eat quickly: spaghetti with fried garlic and chilli in olive oil is all you need to feel satiated. So yes, I liked the ultimate quick, delectable dish here too. Not because it is my favorite, but because it was done well.

Even though I love broccoli irrespective of the variation it is available in, I was a little surprised with my first encounter with Broccoli Malai Kebab. I was expecting it to be served skewered. But when the slightly roasted version with malai topping arrived, I was hooked. On first bite, it was peppery and went well with the Malai. Frankly, I loved this unusual yet welcoming change.

From all the non-veg food items that we tried, the flawless Oyster Glazed Fish clay pot deserves a special mention.

While I wasn't keen on trying the Indian fare, the chef convinced me to dig into their Dum Biryani. And I was glad, I didn’t resist. The reason? This finger-licking good rice delicacy was non-greasy and had the right fragrance and flavour. Death by Chocolate gave a befitting end to my meal. While its sponge could have been more soft, it was its lovely gooey centre that impressed me. Thankfully, the chocolate didn't spill from the mould.

Service: The staff was quick to respond to our queries and needs.

Our Opinion: Impressive, but not meant for masses.

Address: Sector 18, Noida
