IND vs ENG: Shreyas Iyer Trolled Heavily After Another Short-ball Dismissal
Apart from a half-century against Pakistan, Shreyas Iyer has failed to make an impact in the middle-order for India this World Cup.

Team India middle-order batter Shreyas Iyer once again became victim of a short ball and was dismissed cheaply against England in the ODI World Cup match on Sunday in Lucknow. Iyer came out to bat at number 4 spot when India lost the big wicket of Virat Kohli for a duck and the job for the former was to rebuild the innings alongside Rohit Sharma.

However, it turned out to be a forgettable day with the bat for Iyer as he was dismissed for just 4. It was Chris Woakes who set up him with a short ball. Iyer tried to smash it hard but only managed to get an edge on it. It was an easy catch to grab for Mark Woods inside the circle.

The fans on social media were not impressed with Iyer’s continuous struggle against the short ball as he faced the wrath of some trolls.

Apart from a half-century against Pakistan, Iyer has failed to make an impact in the middle-order for India. The stylish batter has registered scores of 0, 25*, 53*, 19, 33 and 4 in the tournament thus far and time is running out for them now as Ishan Kishan is sitting on the bench waiting for his chance.

Earlier, England captain Jos Buttler won the toss and elected to bowl first against hosts India in Lucknow.

India come into the clash on the back of winning five matches on the trot and are firmly in the frame to reach the semi-finals. England, the defending champions, come into the match after suffering three consecutive losses in the competition, leaving their semi-final hopes hanging by a thread. Both teams are fielding unchanged teams from their respective previous clashes.
