Aayush Sharma On Working As A Background Dancer In Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani: ‘It Was A Beautiful Moment’

Recently, during an interview, Aayush Sharma revealed he worked as a background dancer in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani.

Aayush Sharma is gearing up for his upcoming film, Ruslaan, which is slated to release this weekend. The actor started his career in Bollywood with the film Loveyatri, which was backed by Salman Khan. However, the actor had to face his own set of struggles in the initial days. Recently, during an interview, Aayush revealed he worked as a background dancer in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. Aayush stated it was his first time experiencing how it feels to be on a film set.

During an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Aayush Sharma spoke candidly about his struggles in Bollywood. Aayush recalled his early days in the film industry when he worked as a background dancer in Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone’s Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani song, Dilliwali Girlfriend. He shared that he had stepped into Mehboob Studios for the first time back then, and someone had asked him why he was working as a background dancer. The actor shared that he wanted to see what a film set looked like and how the shoot took place.

He revealed, “I couldn’t find a job as Assistant Director. At one point, I wanted to become a casting director, thinking that I could get on the set through this. I remember that I had a shoot for YJHD at Mehboob Studios. It was a beautiful moment as there were 300-400 background dancers and I was one of them. Then I saw Manish Malhotra, Deepika Padukone, Kalki Koechlin and then I saw Ranbir Kapoor entering the set for the Dilliwali girlfriend song shoot.“

Furthermore, Aayush added that the dancers were taught the steps and he was trying to hide from the camera as he was there to learn. He added, “But that day, I had a craving to see the monitor. I wanted to see how I looked or danced but I feared if someone said that only HOD’s are allowed near the monitor.”

Meanwhile, the action-packed film Ruslaan is directed by Karan Lalit Butani and will also feature Sushrii Mishraa in the lead and Jagapathi Babu and Vidya Malavade in pivotal roles. Aayush Sharma made his acting debut with 2018’s Loveyatri, and then was seen in Antim: The Final Truth, which was released in 2021.
