After Three Consecutive Hits, Director Tharun Sudhir Seeks Blessings At Temples
Tharun said that he experienced the highs and lows of the film industry and it guides his path forward.

Director Tharun Sudhir is currently basking in the success of his film Kaatera released at the cinema halls on December 29, 2023. His last released film Roberrt and Chowka were also commercially successful ventures. He visited the Swami Koragajja Temple and Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Manjunatha Swamy Temple. Tharun uploaded his pictures from the holy sites and wrote in the caption, “Giving gratitude for the blessed victories, praying the Lord for peace, love and peace! Finding serenity in the sacred space, visiting the temple is not just a ritual but a cherished and blessed favourite thing to do”.

Tharun talked about his experience of accomplishing a hat trick in the film industry with The New Indian Express. He said,” Be it Chowka, Roberrt, or Kaatera and even my films as a creative director, I approach each movie with immense respect and a sense of divinity. I’ve always believed there are more talented directors than me. To compete with them, my only path is to put in more work, striving to match their calibre. This mindset remains constant for every film, treating each one like my first. Cinema isn’t just my profession; it’s been a part of me since birth.” Tharun said that he has experienced the highs and lows of the film industry and that one success leads him to the next project and guides his path forward.

Kaatera had courted criticism when Tharun unveiled its poster on social media. Some of the people noted that there were resemblances between it and Dhanush-starrer Karnan’s poster. Karnan revolves around a brave villager, who fights for the rights of his people living in a village after a police officer tortures them. Kaatera also ran into controversy over dialogue when Jagapathi Babu said that these people are like snakes. The dialogue further goes like catch them if they have no venom and smash them if they have venom. Wildlife activist Prasanna Kumar expressed concern over this issue. He noted that the dialogue could be interpreted as advocating the killing of snakes. He emphasised the negative impact on viewers, as it may inadvertently encourage harm to these creatures.
