Director Stephen Frears' next mega epic movie Victoria & Abdul is based on the most unlikely friendship between Queen Victoria and her most trusted clerk Abdul Karim. While veteran actor Judi Dench plays the titular role of Queen Victoria, Bollywood actor Ali Fazal plays the gentleman Abdul Karim.

The film is slated to release in September this year and is one of the most anticipated films of the year.

Multiple costumes were designed for both the lead actors, keeping in mind the stature and royalty of the era of the late 1800s. No stones were left unturned to render the original-vibe and look to the costumes designed especially for Judi and Ali for their characters. Considering that a lot of time and efforts went into designing, the makers have decided to put them all for public display at the museum in Osborne House, located at the Isle of Wight, in the U.K.

Most of the scenes from Victoria and Abdul were also shot in the same house thereby giving authenticity to it. Also, it will be one of the first films to have been shot inside the former royal residence. Quite ironically, Queen Victoria breathed her last in the same palace which is now a popular tourist attraction.

Osborne House holds a significant place in the history of the British royalty. It was built in the mid-1800s for the Queen and Prince Albert.
