Bigg Boss Kannada 11: Police Issue Notice To Makers Over Privacy Breach
The complaint raised concerns about the lack of privacy for female contestants in a multi-camera environment, potentially leading to human rights violations.

The makers of Bigg Boss Kannada Season 11, hosted by Kiccha Sudeep landed in legal trouble. They have been issued a police notice after receiving a complaint about the violation of the privacy of the female contestants on the show. The notice was issued by the Kumbalgodu Police after the Karnataka State Commission for Women raised concerns over a controversial task in the house.

The Kumbalgodu police have requested them to appear for an inquiry. This action comes from a complaint regarding the “Heaven and Hell” task, where contestants were split into different sections, with some placed in a prison-like setting. The complaint raised concerns about the lack of privacy for female contestants in a multi-camera environment, potentially leading to human rights violations.

The Women’s Commission filed a complaint against the show, accusing it of unfair treatment towards the female contestants. It highlighted concerns over inadequate facilities, particularly in the prison-like rooms where contestants, including women, were confined. The complaint mentioned that keeping individuals in such conditions, without proper food and sanitation, was unacceptable and a violation of their privacy and dignity.

Karnataka Women’s Commission chairperson Nagalakshmi Chaudhary assured a thorough investigation into the matter, leading the police to file a report on the case. The police contacted the Bigg Boss Kannada organisers and asked them to provide unedited raw videos and audio of the “heaven-hell” episode. They also warned that strict action will be taken if such things are neglected.

The police have called for full transparency from the organisers of the show and cautioned that failure to submit the necessary footage may lead to serious repercussions. The incident has sparked widespread debate among viewers and officials, bringing into question the ethical limits of reality television. Bigg Boss Kannada has not yet released an official statement in response to the notice.
