Gautami Patil is a well-known Lavani folk dancer. She has, on multiple occasions, won the hearts of her fans with her graceful dances across Maharashtra. The artist shares a huge fan base, from the young to elderly alike. As per reports, she is known to charge somewhere between Rs 2 to 5 lakh for an event. The dancer has once again grabbed headlines, and this time for dancing in a fort. Recently, Gautami Patil’s new song, Ala Bai Daji Majh has been released, where she stars opposite Utkarsh Shinde. She dropped a behind-the-scenes video of the dance on Instagram. She received flak and the internet criticised her for choosing to showcase her dance at a fort, which they believe is a mark of disrespect towards Maharaj Chhatrapati Shivaji.
Dressed in a dark green saree with silver sequin embroidery on the border, Gautami Patil chose a red blouse with backless details and puffy shoulders with sheer panels. She accessorised herself with red bangles, a kamar bandh, a statement necklace, a nath and earrings and chose a red bindi. She pulled her hair back into a neat bun and adorned it with garland and wrapped up her look with juttis. Her caption read, “New song Ala Bai Daji Majha.”
The video did not go down well with a section of the internet. A comment read, “Those forts don’t belong to your father. These forts are the pride of Maharaj and Maharashtra. Did you understand?” Another commented, “But have some respect for Shivaji Maharaj.” One more wrote, “I know that this is your art, but please don’t dance at forts, madam.” Others were impressed with her dance.
Previously, she posted a video to announce that her dance video was out. She used this as an opportunity to extend her gratitude to the team. The song Ala Bai Daji Majha is sung by Varsha Ekhande. Her caption read, “Thanks to each one who directly and indirectly worked harder and supported my song “Ala Bai Daji Majha. Special thanks to Pankaj Shah Sir and Mayank Patel Bhai ..love u all.”
What do you think of her dance video?
