Amid the scores of congratulatory messages and best wishes, Hugh Jackman has been receiving for his latest release, one particular moment of appreciation stands out for him. The Deadpool & Wolverine star, along with his co-star Ryan Reynolds, had made an appearance on the popular late-night show Jimmy Kimmel Live. Just like their latest MCU film, their gig on the show wasn’t ordinary either. Instead of the regular format of the show where host Jimmy Kimmel interviews celebrities, this time, Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds turned hosts for each other. However, even before the show had started, the two had experienced something extra special on the sets.

The actors were given the keys for the set and were treated to a huge round of applause as they entered. Hugh Jackman shared this happy and nervous moment with his fans on social media.

“That time Jimmy Kimmel Live gave us the keys!! Before the show, everyone gathers for this chant. It’s an amazing feeling of support mixed with complete terror and flop sweat. Thank you to the entire team for your unwavering support and for keeping the fire extinguisher close,” reads the caption of Hugh Jackman’s post on Instagram.

The duo had stepped in as guest hosts on the Wednesday, July 24 episode of ABC’s late-night talk show while Jimmy Kimmel wasn’t present.

The viewers of the video in the comments section were equally excited to watch the clip and had amusing reactions to it. “Is this why Thor was crying,” asked a user. “One might even say it was the greatest showman,” said another. “Hugh has a warm, friendly nature. Genuinely kind to his fans,” wrote a user. “Such a good show, You both nailed it,” read a comment.

Another standout part in the particular episode was when Reynolds received an unexpected call from his wife while he was interviewing his co-star. “I’m so sorry … I’m sorry, it’s Blake,” Reynolds told Jackman as his phone rang mid-interview. “We always promised we’d answer in the middle of something.” He picked up the call, talked to Blake and even made her greet the audience present there.

Currently running in theatres, Deadpool and Wolverine released globally on July 26.
