Gracie Abrams has expressed her emotions towards returning to open for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour. Following the concert held at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami on October 19, 2024, Abrams posted a heartfelt message on Instagram, saying “Being back on this tour feels like coming home” and was grateful for the viewers.
The 25-year-old shared a photo from the concert and wrote, “I will never ever forget what this felt like. Thank you for night 2 from the bottom of my heart. Currently writing a whole entire love letter to Miami…Being back on this tour feels like coming home. I love you @taylorswift (sic)”.
Abrams will continue performing warm-ups for Swift for the rest of the Eras tour, which is planned to end in December 2024. After the Miami shows, they are set to perform in New Orleans and Indianapolis before wrapping up in Canada.
She secured the opportunity to collaborate with the Cruel Summer singer and debut her album The Secret of Us earlier in the year at Wembley Stadium in London. In a September interview with PEOPLE, Abrams described the feeling as an “out of body” experience. She went on to appreciate Swift’s ability to connect with the audience making the performance feel personal despite the presence of a huge crowd.
In an interview with Who What Wear, she explained, “We wrote it the way that we played it at Wembley.” She also explained how the Eras Tour impacted her album and how she couldn’t wait to perform The Secret Of Us. She said that the major portion of the album took inspiration from Swift’s vibrant energy and her passionate dedicated fanbase.
Abrams has explained how she has used performances on the Eras Tour to conquer stage fear. She said it “rewired a huge chunk” of her brain, and helped her address her fears beyond performances and in the real world.
Over her journey, the Close To You singer has been vocal about how grateful she was to Swift for giving her a shot at the big time. She called the Blank Space singer an “unbelievable performer” and “a great friend” while speaking to PEOPLE. For Abrams, the Eras Tour means something beyond a “wildest dream”, emphasising how it changed her life in many ways.
