The much-anticipated web series Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, also marks the return of Fardeen Khan.

The trailer of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s highly anticipated series, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, was released on Tuesday. From larger-than-life sets to impeccable outfits, the trailer has ticked all the boxes. Not just that, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s industry colleagues have given a thumbs-up to the trailer. Joining the list is Alia Bhatt. The actress has given a shout-out to SLB on Instagram Stories. Along with the trailer, she said, “Uff!!!Just Magic!!!" Alia and Sanjay Leela Bhansali collaborated for Gangubai Kathiawadi. The two will once again join hands for the upcoming project Love & War.

Apart from Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal was also spellbound by the trailer. He wrote, “How stunning is this! The world building, the drama… top notch!!" FYI: Vicky will also be seen in Love & War. This would be his first collaboration with Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

Meanwhile, the trailer for Heeramandi takes us back to a time when courtesans had their own kingdom with their rules. The series explores the cultural realities of the namesake district of Heera Mandi through the stories of a group of courtesans set against the volatile backdrop of India’s independence struggle in the 1940s. The series stars Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chaddha, Sharmin Segal, and Sanjeeda Shaikh, who go from controlling the Nawabs to fighting against English oppression. Apart from them, Fardeen Khan, Taha Shah Badussha, Shekhar Suman, and Adhyayan Suman as also part of the cast and will play the role of the Nawabs in the pre-independence era.

So far, the makers have released two songs from the Heeramandi album — Tilasmi Bahein and Sakal Ban. The album is being produced under the label Bhansali Music, which is Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s latest venture and launched earlier this year.

The much-anticipated web series Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, will released on Netflix on May 1. The series also marks the return of Fardeen Khan after a long break.
