Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are headed for a divorce. It was reported that JLo has filed for a divorce on the same day as the couple would have marked their second wedding anniversary. While the couple is yet to comment on the split, Bennifer fans are heartbroken to see Ben and JLo experiencing a second break up. For the unversed, Jennifer and Ben were engaged in 2004 and were preparing to get married when life took a dark turn and they parted ways.

Love Post the Gigli Land:
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck had crossed paths at a few parties but started getting to know each other on the sets of Gigli in 2002. They became good friends. When filming the movie, Lopez was married to her second husband, Cris Judd. That same year, they parted ways. Jennifer grew closer and eventually started dating Ben. Although Gigli failed, Bennifer was a hit! They became the tabloids’ favourite couple. Ben appeared in JLo’s iconic music videos, “Jenny From the Block” and “I’m Glad.” Ben went down on one knee with a 6.1-carat pink diamond ring and their engagement news blew up the tabloids.
Bennifer Break Up:
In September 2004, Bennifer announced that they were postponing their wedding. A month later, fans were in for a shock when it was reported that Jennifer dumped Ben. “Jennifer Lopez has ended her engagement to Ben Affleck. At this difficult time, we ask that you respect her privacy,” her team said in 2004, as reported by People. Meanwhile, Ben’s team told New York’s Daily News, “I am not going to confirm anything about his personal life. We don’t want to get dragged into quicksand. Everybody wants a war. It’s not happening from our side.”

Jennifer Lopez Married Marc Anthony:
In 2004, Jennifer found love again with Marc Anthony. They welcomed twins, Max and Emme in February 2008. The couple stayed together until 2014.
Ben Affleck Married Jennifer Garner:
A year after JLo’s wedding, Ben got married to Jennifer Garner. They remained married from 2005 to 2018 and had three children — Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel.
After their respective split, JLo dated and was engaged to former baseball star Alex Rodriguez while Ben was dating Ana de Armas.
The Bennifer Reunion:
Bennifer reunited in May 2021 and took a trip to Montana, which sparked rumours that they are coming together yet again. Multiple sources gave the fandom hope that this time around, the couple will have a happy ending. And it did look like their fairytale ending was in the making.
In July 2021, she confirmed that Bennifer was back. In September 2021, they attended the premiere of The Last Duel as a couple madly in love. In April 2022, Ben proposed to her again and she said yes, again! This time, the ring featured a gorgeous green stone.

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Aniston eloped to Las Vegas and got married in July 2022. It was followed by a wedding ceremony in August 2022. A year into the marriage, the couple continued to look happy and merry in love.
Cracks in Relationship:
Eyebrows were raised when Jennifer Lopez attended the MET Gala 2024 in May solo. Although the rumours of possible trouble in paradise were shot down by Ben’s rep, who told ET that he missed the Gala due to The Accountant 2 filming schedule, fans noticed Ben attended the live taping of Netflix’s Tom Brady: The Greatest Roast of All Time alone. Seeds of their separation rumours began to plant and later that month, sources began suggesting that the couple is riding through a bumpy road.
Rumours grew stronger with reports suggesting Jennifer had moved out of the house, Ben sold their house and the couple spent most of the summer apart. Eventually, on August 20, 2024, TMZ reported that Jennifer filed for divorce.
