Actress-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut is on cloud nine as The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) elected Narendra Modi as its leader on Wednesday. The NDA held a meeting at the Prime Minister’s Residence and unanimously passed the resolution electing Modi as the bloc’s leader.
Sharing a photo of all NDA leaders from the meeting, Kangana wrote on her Instagram story, “Sapne nahi hakikat bante hai, tabhi toh sab Modi ko chunte hain.” While the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) didn’t secure enough seats (240) to reach the majority-mark of 272 to form the government on its own, the BJP-led NDA’s tally (292) is well beyond the mark.
Interestingly, Kangana also made a smashing electoral debut, winning the Mandi constituency from Himachal Pradesh in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Kangana, defeated her closest rival Vikramaditya Singh of Congress by a margin of over 74,000 votes.
Kangana also took to X and shared her reaction to her debut win. She termed her victory ‘a victory of faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’. Sharing a picture collage featuring PM Modi, Kangana said, “Heartfelt gratitude to all Mandi residents for this support, this love and trust This victory is of all of you, this is the victory of faith in Prime Minister Modi and BJP, this is the victory of Sanatan, this is the victory of the honour of Mandi.”
On the acting front, Kangana will soon be seen in Emergency. The film is based on the Emergency declared under the Indira Gandhi leadership and she will be seen playing the role of the former Prime Minister. Kangana is also directing the film. In a viral interview earlier, Kangana had hinted that if she won the Mandi seat, she would fulfil her pending film commitments and then leave the industry to focus on politics full-time.
