Kangana Ranaut was slapped by a CISF guard at the Chandigarh airport on Thursday afternoon. The actress-turned-politician was travelling to New Delhi days after her Lok Sabha elections win from Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi constituency.
CNN-News18 learnt that after the security check, Kangana Ranaut was going to the boarding gate where she was slapped by a CISF personnel named LCT Kulwinder Kaur. While it remains unclear what provoked the CISF jawan to attack the newly-elected MP, it is being said that she was reportedly upset with some of Kangana’s previous statements about the farmers’ protest in India. Neither Kangana Ranaut nor CISF has issued any official statement regarding the scuffle at the airport as of now.
Meanwhile, we have also learnt that Kangana will file a complaint to the Home Ministry in Delhi.

The shocking incident comes days after Kangana Ranaut defeated her closest rival Vikramaditya Singh of Congress by a margin of over 74,000 votes to win Mandi. After her victory, the actress also shared an Instagram post thanking the people from her constituency. “Heartfelt gratitude to all the people of Mandi for this love and trust… This victory belongs to all of you, this is the victory of your trust in Prime Minister Modi and BJP, this is the victory of Sanatan and in the honour of Mandi,” she wrote.
On the acting front, Kangana will soon be seen in Emergency. The film is based on the Emergency declared under the Indira Gandhi leadership and she will be seen playing the role of the former Prime Minister. Kangana Ranaut announced Emergency in 2021 and later clarified that even though Emergency is a political drama, it is not Indira Gandhi’s biopic. The actress is not just playing the lead in the film but is also directing it. Besides Kangana, the film also stars Anupam Kher, Milind Soman, Mahima Chaudhry and Shreyas Talpade among others. Emergency was supposed to hit theatres on June 14, 2024, but has now been postponed.
In a viral interview earlier, Kangana had hinted that if she won the Mandi seat, she would fulfil her pending film commitments and then leave the industry to focus on politics full-time.
