Abhay Verma became a known face after the success of his film Munjya earlier this year. The actor has gained a significant fanbase, many of whom are eager to know more about his life and work. Recently, as people around the world commemorated International Dog’s Day on August 26, the actor gave an insight on how owning a pet has changed his life and also expressed how much he adores dogs.

Abhay Verma opened up about his dog Joey and how he has ‘brightened’ his life amid the daily struggles. He told Mid Day, “Whenever I return from a shoot, he welcomes me with so much joy, it just takes away all the tiredness! And I make sure that I greet him with the same amount of delight, no matter what!” He added that it is quite unbelievable the kind of satisfaction the pet brings to his life and he loves to spoil his dog. He further mentioned, “When you adopt a pet, you turn into a parent by default! This joy knows no bounds, honestly.”

The actor rose to prominence following the success of his debut film as a lead actor in Munjya opposite Sharvari Wagh. It was a horror comedy directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and part of Maddock Films’ supernatural universe. Speaking about the film’s casting, he had told the portal how his character went through several changes. He stated, “My character was supposed to be a girl earlier. It was to be played by Shraddha Kapoor, and before her, by Alia Bhatt. The character went through changes over four-five years. I am the only hero to have replaced heroines.”

The storyline of Munjya is set in Pune and the Konkan region. In addition to Sharvari and Abhay, Mona Singh plays a crucial role in the film. It tells the narrative of the eponymous mythical creature who causes havoc in the life of Bittu, (played by Abhay) to reunite with his long lost love Munni.

Meanwhile, post the success of Munjya, reports suggest that he has been roped in for Shah Rukh Khan’s King. One of Shah Rukh Khan’s most anticipated projects, King will also include Suhana Khan and Abhishek Bachchan in key roles. Prior to Munjya, Abhay Verma was seen in supporting roles in The Family Man, Ae Watan Mere Watan, Safed and others.
