Baipan Bhari Deva became one of the biggest blockbuster movies of the Marathi cinema in 2023. It is directed by Kedar Shinde and stars Rohini Hattangadi, Vandana Gupte, Sukanya Kulkarni, Suchitra Bandekar, Deepa Parab and Shilpa Navalkar in the lead roles. The film grossed over Rs 90 crore at the box office in its 50 days of theatrical run. It became the highest-grossing Marathi movie of 2023. Now, The Kashmir Files director, Vivek Agnihotri praised it by calling it a “wonderful movie after a very long time” in his Instagram story.
After 6 months of release, the movie Baipan Bhari Deva is currently streaming on Disney+ Hotstar. This opened the doors for the global audience to watch the movie. Agnihotri too took this opportunity to watch the movie. Baipan Bhari Deva was an Oscar-worthy movie, as per Vivek Agnihotri. In his appreciation post, the director wrote, “This movie deserves an Oscar, this movie should get a National Award. The film has a very great work by everyone, very beautiful writing and also Kedar Shinde has done a quality direction.”
He further appreciated the precision of the filmmaking of Kedar Shinde in the movie. “Kedar has worked meticulously on the nuances, timing and small details.” Vivek Agnihotri congratulated the team for the success and wished them luck. The director requested everyone to leave everything and watch the film.
Vivek Agnihotri shot to fame in Bollywood with his directorial Kashmir Files. It starred Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar, Mithun Chakraborty and Pallavi Joshi in the lead roles. The film claiming to be inspired by a true story, the movie showcased the exodus of Kashmiri Hindus from Indian-administered Kashmir. The film grossed over Rs 340 crore worldwide.
After the success of Kashmir Files, Vivek Agnihotri directed Vaccine War which starred Nana Patekar in the lead role. It was released last year. The story of the movie was centred around the journey of Indian scientists in the creation of the COVID-19 vaccine. It couldn’t perform well at the box office.
