Our beloved British bear, Paddington, is set to return for a whole new adventure, this time in Peru. A teaser of the upcoming film Paddington in Peru has been released, giving a little taste of what fans can expect next. On Wednesday, Sony Pictures dropped the 1-minute, 13-second teaser video, also confirming that the film will be released in January 2025. From his hilarious attempt to get his passport clicked to travelling throughout the tropical forests, the video promises to show Paddington’s greatest adventure.
The teaser opens to show the bear trying to fit his head inside a circle at a photo booth for a picture while also messing it up hilariously by sticking his face to the glass wall. What follows is another funny moment at the airport when the staff tries to recognise him with the picture.
The teaser ends with Paddington struggling to steer his boat in the middle of a river. Notably, he is on his way to visit his Aunt Lucy in Peru, who resides at the Home for Retired Bears. “With the Brown Family in tow, a thrilling adventure ensues when a mystery plunges them into an unexpected journey through the Amazon rainforest and up to the mountain peaks of Peru," the official synopsis reads.
The film is the third in the successful Paddington franchise; however, it comes with several changes to its cast and director. Dougal Wilson has taken over the directing duties, while Ben Whishaw will return the voice behind Paddington. Others include Hugh Bonneville, Emily Mortimer, Julie Walters, Jim Broadbent, and Imelda Staunton. Produced by David Heyman and Rosie Alison, the film will hit theatres on January 17, 2025.
Paddington is based on Michael Bond’s children’s book character. The first two films, directed by Paul King, were quite successful, earning good numbers at the box office. Thanks to its wholesome and family-friendly content with uplifting themes, the Paddington films have received a lot of love from audiences, thus leading to the franchise’s growth.
