Rajkummar Rao is currently basking under the success of his recently released film Mr & Mrs Mahi with Janhvi Kapoor. And now there is a report that he has already gone on to his next film, a romantic drama. The shooting of the film titled Bhul Chuk Maaf will commence in Varanasi and Rajkummar Rao has already arrived at the location. Wamiqa Gabbi will be seen as the lead actress and has joined the team in Varanasi.
Bollywood Hungama has quoted a source saying, “Rao and Gabbi have already arrived in Varanasi to film the project under the direction of Karan Sharma. The shoot is set to commence soon” Nothing much detail has been shared till now. Earlier, it was reported that Kartik Aaryan and Shraddha Kapoor will be sharing screen space. But later Bhul Bhoolaiya 3 actor himself denied the reports saying that “Must be an error. Not true.”
Mr & Mrs Mahi film managed to earn these collections due to Cinema Lovers Day where tickets were priced at a flat rate of Rs 99 for the standard versions. ‘Mr & Mrs Mahi’ has reportedly drawn around 7.5-8 lakh cinegoers to theatres despite being a small-budget film.
Well, the actor has many films lined up in his including. He has recently wrapped the shoot of Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa. He will be sharing screen space with Triptii Dimri. The retro drama will be releasing on 11 October 2024.
Taking to his Instagram handle, Rajkummar Rao wrote, “Buckle up for a retro nostalgia trip! Excited to take you on a joy ride in #VickyVidyaKaWohWalaVideo coming on *11th October 2024*” This movie will take us back to the Mystical Age of 90’s. It is an illustration of a retro recall and does promise to be an out-and-out family entertainer. Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video is produced by Bhushan Kumar T-series.
On the work front, Wamiqa Gabbi will be next seen in a film with Varun Dhawan. Directed by Tamil filmmaker Kalees, the movie is titled Baby John. The film will also feature Keerthy Suresh. Reportedly, Baby John has faced a setback in its scheduled release. The action-packed awaited film has been postponed from its initial May 31st date, with the new release date yet to be confirmed. The production team aims to reschedule the premiere for sometime in June or July of 2024.
