Bhansali opened up about Love & War last month. Speaking with Variety, Bhansali said, “It’s a love story that I’m making after a long time. A slightly contemporary work, different from the dances, pillars, architecture, drapes, curtains and jewellery [of “Heeramandi”]. It’s a new language, milieu and ambience for me. I needed [it] very much to excite me as a filmmaker to do something new, to speak of a different period, a different set of characters and new circumstances.”

“It’s nice to work with this wonderful cast of Ranbir, Vicky and Alia. It’ll be nice to see how their chemistry works. And [it is] a triangular love story, which has not come in Hindi cinema for a long time. So let’s see how it all shapes up,” he added.

Before Love and War, Ranbir will be seen in Ramayana will Sai Pallavi, Yash and Sunny Deol. The filming has allegedly come to a halt due to the copyright infringement case against the film. Speaking of the decision to halt the shoot, a source told Mid-Day, “Filming continued for a few days after the notice, but has been on hold since last week. The legalities need to be sorted out, and filming will only resume after a consensus is reached on the matter.” The insider added that the filming has just been put on a halt and that the film is not shelved. The shooting is expected to resume in three weeks.
