Hansal Mehta, Arshad Warsi and Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri paid heartfelt social media tributes to Rituraj Singh after his passing.

Actor Rituraj Singh passed away on Tuesday, February 20. As reported by ETimes, the actor was suffering from some pancreatic disease and was hospitalised recently after he faced a cardiac arrest. However, he passed away on Tuesday at the age of 59. Rituraj Singh’s sudden demise has sent shockwaves across the entertainment industry.

Filmmaker Hansal Mehta took to the microblogging site X, formerly known as Twitter, to pay tribute to the actor. “Rituraj!!!! Can’t believe this! I directed him briefly in a daily soap called K Street Pali Hill but in the process, we became good friends. Been a while since we hung out but I have such fond memories. Untapped actor and a warm human. Gone suddenly and too early,” he wrote. Sonu Sood wrote, “RIP Bhai #rituraj.”

Arshad also took to the platform and wrote, “I am so saddened to know that Ritu Raj passed away. We lived in the same building, he was a part of my first film as a producer. Lost a friend and a great actor… will miss you brother…” Filmmaker Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri wrote, “Rituraj, my friend, how did you make it even possible? “Kitna baaki tha…” Artists never die.”

Rituraj Singh is known for shows like Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Kutumb, Abhay 3 and Never Kiss Your Best Friend among others. He was also seen in Rupali Ganguly’s superhit show, Anupamaa. Rituraj also worked in films like Satyamev Jayate 2 and Badrinath Ki Dulhania. In the latter, he played Varun Dhawan’s father. The film also starred Alia Bhatt in the lead.
