Days after receiving the honorary award, Dhanush reflected on the film’s achievement in a heartwarming Instagram post. He also shared a picture of the trophy and wrote, “Not often the lead actors of a film win best actor and actress together. Thiru and shobana are very special. Thank you shobana for making Thiru look better. #thiruchitrambalam.” The actor has also tagged his co-star, Nithya Menen. Fans immediately took to the comments section and cheered for the duo and their memorable characters.
Nithya Menen also penned a heartfelt note to express gratitude. “No achievement has ever been one person’s alone. This one, is for everyone who contributed their spoon of sparkle to the magic of Thiruchitrambalam, and everyone who showered their love for Shobana ???? Grateful to be the face of that sparkle,” Menen wrote.
More About Thiruchitrambalam
Directed by Mithran Jawahar, the family entertainer features Dhanush and Nithya as best friends Thiru and Shobana. Thiru, who is a delivery boy, shares a good rapport with his grandfather (Bharathiraja) but happens to struggle to bond with his father (Prakash Raj), who is a police officer. The upbeat tale came as a fresh breath of air and left quite an impression among viewers.
The team also reunited last year to celebrate one year of Thiruchitrambalam. While the film’s story resonated largely with audiences, its songs like Thaai Kelavi, Megham Karukaatha, Life of Pazham, and Thenmozhi also became chartbusters.
Currently, on the work front, Dhanush’s latest release, Raayan, is also moving unstoppably at the box office. Close to entering the 100-crore club, the Tamil film has already achieved many other feats for the actor.
